The CBB Fall Luncheon for Past Ball Chairs and active members was hosted at Truluck’s Ocean’s Finest Seafood and Crab. 2024 Chairs Lora Farris and Marjon Zabihi Henderson welcomed the committee, and then it was time for the big announcement of the day! 2023 Chairs Andrea Cheek and Isabell Novakov Higginbotham presented an astonishing check for $5.5 million, making the 50th anniversary the most successful Cattle Baron’s Ball to date!

Thanks to the generosity of MIRADOR we kicked off this year in style! Cattle Baron’s Ball Chairs Lora Farris and Marjon Zabihi Henderson were excited to announce the theme that will move us into the next fifty years of CBB: New Horizons. They also announced that VIP Performer, Straight Tequila Night, and Headline Performer, Carrie Underwood would entertain the crowd back at Southfork Ranch!

Research Symposium
The Village’s Drey Hotel | March 28, 2024
The Research Symposium is a special event for Cattle Baron’s Ball. The Village’s Drey Hotel welcomed our donors and committee members the opportunity to see where their generous donations go, the research it funds, and the people it impacts. Dr. Robert Signer, an ACS funded researcher, and Campbell Fearing, leukemia survivor and ambassador shared their stories of impact and updated guests on breakthroughs in the research space. CBB Chairs Lora Farris and Marjon Zabihi Henderson also announced that the 2024 Paddle Raise goal is to help fund and name a glioblastoma research grant in honor of Kace, Claire, and the Phillips family!

Spring Luncheon
Yardbird Table & Bar | April 2, 2024
The Cattle Baron’s Ball committee gathered together at Yardbird Table & Bar for the annual Spring Luncheon. Ball Chairs Lora Farris and Marjon Zabihi Henderson welcomed and thanked everyone for their hard work and announced several new partnerships, including exclusive earrings from Mignonne Gavigan and rose gold boots from Miron Crosby. Luncheon Chairs Annalee Aston, Lisa Bhattacharya, and Jennifer Tobin pulled names for the day’s raffle prizes that were generously donated by Blue Print, Krane Home, Niven Morgan, Sue Sartor, and Tart by Taylor.

Maridoe Golf Club | May 7, 2024
For the 4th Annual Golf Tournament, we returned to the exclusive and award-winning Maridoe Golf Club! On May 7, we were joined by 100 golfers for a four-player shamble on the beautiful Blackland Prairie. Highlights from the day included activations, contests, and fabulous prizes. The day concluded with a cocktail reception where winning teams were awarded. Guests enjoyed the remainder of the reception with food, drinks, and live music from the Ray Johnston Band.

The 2024 Trailblazer’s Party was a dazzling evening! Decked out in denim and diamonds, we celebrated our early donors in style. Guests enjoyed the beautiful views and delicious bites from Monarch’s Kessaku restaurant. Diamonds Direct showcased the jewel that is featured in a Live Auction package and also provided beautiful pieces for guests to show off at the Premiere Booth photo booth!

This year, Cattle Baron’s Ball was thrilled to host a very special Patient Prom at Children’s Health! Thanks to the generosity of our donors, patients were able to find and keep the perfect prom outfit and get pampered at the hair, makeup, nails, and jewelry stations. After walking the red carpet and snapping pictures in the photo booth, patients grabbed a bite to eat and danced the night away!

The Underwriter’s Party was our last chance to get together and celebrate before the ball itself! True to CBB and Hôtel Swexan fashion, the night was full of southwest styles! Guests enjoyed drinks, light bites, music from Big Joe Walker, and a few special words from guest speaker from Janus Henderson. Thanks to Studio 214 guests were able to pose for a beautiful moment and participate in a brand new “Why Wall” where they could share their reasons for supporting Cattle Baron’s Ball!

The Past Ball Chair Luncheon was a great time to share stories and celebrate the successes of our former Cattle Baron’s Ball chairs. This group of women paved the way for today’s committee and made Dallas CBB the magnificent event it is today! Luncheon Chairs Laura Black, Kate Boatright, and Paige Westhoff welcomed everyone, thanked our generous partners at Neiman Marcus, and shared that Natura Bisse offered our former chairs an opportunity to participate in their 2024 masterclass.
